Special Chinese Classes are specially designed for children
adopted from China and children from none Chinese speak families who loves
to exploring Chinese language and Chinese culture. The program has been
running for four semesters since it started a year ago. We are so encouraged
by the high enthusiasm from parents and children. In such a short time,
children can sing some Chinese children's songs and can say many Chinese
words! Children's wonderful performence in the Capitiol in July 28 International
Adoption Citizenship Day was a great experience and will leave a sweet
memory for children. We will work even harder to improve the quality
of the program and hope the parents and our young students enjoy the program
as much as we did in the past.

What children will learn in our Special Chinese Classes
Children will learn pinyin (Chinese phonetic system), the names of the objects, the simple sentences and the basic strokes of the Chinese characters, nursery rhymes, children's songs, simple dances and play games etc. We use the video facilities in the classroom which are provided by the Community Center to show children the Chinese language learning programs for younger children and also "Singing & Dancing" performed by Chinese children from China. Children will learn a lot about the real China and Chinese culture from the video tapes. We believe it is a great way to help children pick up the language and keep a happy, fun learning atmosphere.
Here are the details of our courses:
Special Chinese Class One (SCC One)
Saturday 10: 25 - 11:10 am
This class is for children aged about 4 - 5 who has just
started exploring Chinese langauge.
Special Chinese Class Two (SCC Two)
Saturday 10: 25 - 11:10 am
This class is for children aged about 5 - 6 who has been
in the program for one or two semesters.
Regular Special Chinese Class (RSCC)
Saturday 11:20 am - 12:30 pm
This class is for children aged about 6 - 7 years old
and will start the formal Chinese language study.
Chinese Language Class for Adult Saturday 11:20 am - 12:05 pm
Singing and Dancing One Saturday 10: 25 - 11:10 am
Singing and Dancing Two Saturday 11: 20 am - 12:05 pm
Special Chinese Class Three (SCC Three)
Wednesday 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Other services or facilities for parents while your children are having classes:
*Handouts with details to let you know what your children
have learnt in each class.
*Chinese class for adults (babysiter available if you
need)
*Reading room is usually open.
*Table Tennis room is open (you bring your own pads and
balls)
*Have a nice walk around Eagle Heights or along the lake
to picnic point if the weather permits!
Also, there are plenty of free parking spaces with easy access to the building.
